The “Cesanese Wine Route” is a tourist and enogastronomic itinerary that goes from Rome to Frosinone, passing through 6 municipality: Acuto, Affile, Anagni, Paliano, Piglio and Serrone.
The presence of fortified walls, alleys, ramps, large arches and tower houses, castles, fortresses and ruins of stones, formerly owned by the Colonna’s family, testify to the medieval origin of those small mountain villages that you meet along the way.
Along the historical and cultural path, the "Cesanese Wine Route" you can also discover the agricultural traditions of this area, visiting the vineyards and the wineries, the olive groves and the oil mills, and many companies which produce local food and regional specialties. The road which is marked by appropriate signs, crosses the production area of the Cesanese di Affile DOC and Cesanese del Piglio DOCG, wines with a centuries-old tradition, already appreciated by emperors and popes in ancient times.
In addition to the wine and the several farms, the gourmet and wine shops, there are also many accommodation facilities and farmhouses.
The "Cesanese Wine Route”, in fact is not only an enogastronomic route but also an association founded in 2006 to enhance the resources of the territory and to promote tourist accommodation. A non-profit company that sets the quality standards for all the partners, for the benefit of those who live here but also of those who came to visit those lands.
